China Deposited Its Instrument of Accession to the Hague Agreement to WIPO on February 5, 2022

On February 5, WIPO announced on its official website that China has deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Agreement, which will enter into force in China on May 5, 2022. This means that the design of China will be officially protected under the Hague System. From May 5, 2022, applicants for design protection can apply for design protection in all contracting states and regions including China with only one application and one fee.

In fact, in 2015, LongAn had successfully represented clients to proceed with design protection applications to enter Europe, America, Japan and South Korea via the Hague Agreement before China deposited the instrument of accession, and finally the applications were authorized.
