On the 17th World Intellectual Property Day, China Patent Protection Association (CPPA) issued major cases in the field of national intellectual property rights (patents) in Beijing in 2016. The case MIDEA v. On the occasion of the 17th World Intellectual Property Right Day, Patent Protection Association of China unveiled 2016 Big IP (Patent) Cases. The patent infringement dispute of Media versus Aux, represented by Yanxiong Zhao, senior partner of Longan, and Xiaoning Li, partner of Longan (Shenzhen), was selected into the list. In April, Media found that one air condition product of Aux was suspected to infringe its utility model patent and accordingly sued Aux at Shenzhen Intermediate People’s Court. After hearing the case, the infringement was established, and Aux was ordered to compensate Media for its financial loss and reasonable costs. Guangdong High People’s court upheld the ruling.
