ider Pro Bono Legal Service Center is a well-known nonprofit legal service center in Shenzhen. Longan (Shenzhen) ranks 6th among all the volunteer law firms of the center, thanks to its 12 lawyers’ dedication of 292 hours to activities organized by the center. Service subjects include migrant workers, patients with occupational disease, victims of domestic abuse, juveniles, the disabled and non-government organizations. Wider’s 2016 statistics show that the total number of volunteer lawyers is up to 572, among which 302 lawyers from 92 law firms have joined Wider in providing 174 non-government legal aids, giving 583 popularizing courses in schools, and performing 200 non-profit activities. The total service number amounts to 7042 hours.

Lawyer Jia, Hongwei, the director of Shenzhen Offices, has attended The Fourth Training Class of the Leading Foreign-related Lawyer in 2016 organized by the All China Lawyers Association (ACLA). The ACLA only selected 20 foreign-related lawyers to went to London, for a short-term exchange study in the law school of BPP. The Opening Ceremony of Intellectual Property Right Committee of China’s Law Society of Case Studies, as well as the seminar “The Theory and Practice of IP Case Guiding System” was held at Beijing IP Court on December 12th. At this seminar, experts discussed the topic in terms of how IP cases gave guidance to practice. The IP Committee opening speech was given by a Society leader, followed by an announcement that Mr. Jiali Xu had been elected Committee Director. Mr. Xu gave a report on IP Case Guiding System, including: 1. The significance of the guiding system of IP cases; 2. Applicable situations of guiding IP cases; 3. A selection of guiding IP cases; 4. November 23, 2016, lawyer Zhou, Donghua of Nantong Offices was appointed as a foreign-related commercial mediator of International Business Legal Service Center of Jiangsu. After that, Luo, Weixiong, Co-chairman of the Hong Kong Mediation Centre and Mainland – Hong Kong Joint Mediation Center, has conducted a training meeting for the proposed mediator and mediator of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Jiangsu Sub-Council to develop skills related to international commercial mediation.
